 Autoclave Operator (Aerospace/Manufacturing)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week over a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday)

We are a well-established player in the Aerospace Industry, currently celebrating our 71st year. . We specialize in manufacturing composite components, metallics, sheet metalwork, fabrication, machining, and treatments. 

The Role:

We are searching for an experienced Autoclave Operator with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in metallics within the aerospace/manufacturing sector. In this role, you will operate autoclaves efficiently and safely, ensuring that all products meet MPS and Customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Regular communication with the Department's Team Leader to align with production plans.
  • Manual loading, unloading, and curing of parts/components according to specifications.
  • Monitoring industrial machinery to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspection of completed cure cycles and adherence to specifications.
  • General maintenance (TPM) of all autoclaves.
  • Maintenance and testing of vacuum pipes and thermocouples.
  • Compliance with master processes and associated documents to uphold industry standards.
  • Maintaining high performance standards within the team.
  • Monitoring and upholding health and safety standards.
  • Adherence to procedures covering Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP).
  • Regular maintenance of records and documentation.

The Candidate:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Grade C and/or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English (Desirable).
  • NVQ Level 2 in a manufacturing and/or engineering discipline (Desirable).
  • Demonstrable continuous professional development (Essential).
  • Machinery operation and/or engineering experience, or a willingness to gain experience in this environment.
  • Flexibility to work according to shift patterns and overtime requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while making autonomous decisions to meet project deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
  • A highly motivated and disciplined 'can-do' attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Working Pattern:

  • 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, from 07:15 am to 5:00 pm, totaling 37 hours weekly.
  • Overtime available after basic hours at 1.5x and then 2.0x for Sundays.
